I'm Ami
My relationship with photography started when I was 19, but I didn’t have my first semi-professional camera until 21. At the time I was living on the beach in North Carolina and always had great scenery for backdrops. Some of those photos are still my favorites I’ve ever taken.
In 2013, I took a long break from photography while I was in the Air Force; I even sold my camera and lenses. However, I always hoped I’d find my way back to it again. It wasn’t until 6 years later in 2018 that I did.
Since then I’ve honed in on what I truly enjoy and love to photograph. I’ve always said it would be a dream to combine photography and travel, so as a result, I became a hospitality & commercial photographer focusing on hotels, restaurants, and destinations.
“Somehow or another, no where has ever felt foreign to me and I’ve never felt out of place”
Regardless of where being a hospitality & commercial photographer takes me…
I truly believe in exploring and learning about people and places outside of our comfort zones. Whether it’s a 2 hour drive or a 7 hour flight away, there’s always something to discover.
My travels have taken me to the rainforests of Costa Rica to chatting with D-Day veterans in a London pub the same day I was chased by a swan in Hyde Park. I’ve roamed the halls of medieval castles in Germany and drank way too many Jäger shots with locals. I’ve walked the cobblestone streets of Rome and dodged scooters in the Marrakech Medina before watching the sun set over desert sand dunes.
Somehow or another, no where has ever felt foreign to me and I’ve never felt out of place. I hope that by being here, you can be inspired to experience new things too.
oceans & sunsets
Call me basic, but sunsets are life. All those colors and clouds! Add in the ocean and I may explode. If you ever meet Jason, ask him how many time I’ve dragged him outside to look at the sky. I’m not embarrassed about it either.
all the food
I’m not sure how or when I became a foodie, but it’s part of my personality now. I love trying restaurants and learning new recipes at home. Asian dishes are my favorite. Food is just one reason why being a hospitality photographer is so fun.
this goofy boy
Miller is our chocolate lab I rescued from the SPCA. He is the best boy as you were probably imagining. He loves carrots & sweet potatoes, taking his toys outside one by one, laying on pillows, and chasing squirrels. Send an inquiry if you want to know all 8573 of his nick-names.
